WGTT and Indonesian Students Association in Japan have been organizing herself as an active partner of this commitment and have been carrying out some activities pertaining to the online survey of trainees in Japan, developing a web based forum for communication among trainees, and holding PWEP. The numbers of participants of PWEP until the last PWEP Vuteq are around 1,500 people, not including the local arranger, guests, and other special invited officials.
The subjects of the PWEP delivered to participants are included, but not limited to: Financial planning, business management, business feasibility study, small and medium business case studies, banking credit and procedures, accounting for small and medium enterprises, and other related subjects such as: regulation for trainees, judicial assistant from KBRI Tokyo/KJRI Osaka, and even international money remittance. In this special big event, we would like to introduce other main features: success stories from Indonesian enterprenuer, banking support for SME’s development, and directing program for kenshusei who want to be an entrepreneurs.
These PWEP’s are basically a response to the enhancement of the fruit from “Technical Intern Training Program” instituted by the Government of Japan, in which many young Indonesian trainees selected and sent to Japan by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia since 1993, and its number has reached 75,000 people as of 2006. As for per year basis, the number of trainees sent to Japan is around 5,200 people.
It is well known that the trainees who are selected and trained for four months by the Indonesian Government have a high reputation as being well-disciplined, enthusiastic, and energetic youths. The organizing institution of this program such as: IMM (Association for International Manpower Development of Medium and Small Enterprises) Japan, JITCO, among others, have been successfully managed these program since 15 years ago and continue to promote more advanced and more developed training program such as by extending the duration of the program, expanding the industrial base for training, and so on.
